RANDOM START: RECOVER, "PUSH PUSH"
Sorry about the YouTube clip. Unless you’re a Dan Keyes fanatic, or a fan of dudes squatting in subway stations, it’s a bit creepy. The song, however, is fantastic. That chorus is infectious as hell, and I’m stoked that these guys have reunited and are planning on touring and putting out some new music this year.

RANDOM START: DAEDALUS, "I CAR(RY) US"
This record didn’t captivate me immediately like Invention and Exquisite Corpse did when I first heard them, but I’m warming to it. The thing that got me hooked was that he pulls samples from such a vast library of styles from so many different musical eras and makes them work together in pieces of music that feel futuristic. If you like electronica and you don’t have a...

RANDOM START: BAD RELIGION, "STRANGER THAN...
Bad Religion was the band that got me into punk rock (also: got me playing an instrument, made me want to join a band, and expanded my vocabulary by making me dig up definitions for words like “febrile”, “languid”, and “torped”), and because of that, they’ll always hold a special place in my heart and eardrums.

RANDOM START: DEFTONES, "KNIFE PARTY"
Arguably the best song on what is widely considered to be the best album the Deftones ever made. I’m incredibly grateful to have had an opportunity to share the stage with these guys on a couple of tours (and especially being able to watch Abe play drums—what a beast.) Positive thoughts continue to go out to Chi, his family, friends, and band of brothers.

RANDOM START: RADIOHEAD, "OPTIMISTIC"
Coincidentally, I listened to Kid A, from front to back, for the first time in about a year yesterday, and guess what? It’s still flawless. Listening to them makes me feel like I’d imagine Adam Morrison feels when he watches Kobe play basketball. The goals, fundamentals, and rules are the same, but it’s a totally different game when played by one or the other.

RANDOM START: POISON THE WELL, "YOU WILL NOT BE...
This record, “Versions”, was the beginning of an amazing progression/creative leap for these guys. Their most recent record, “The Tropic Rot” was one of my favorites from last year.
