On the day that would have been DFW’s 50th birthday, here’s an excellent homage to some of his best (non-fiction) work by Daniel B. Roberts at Salon. I feel like I got into DFW “backwards” in a sense, not via “Infinite Jest” but via his non-fiction writing. “Consider The Lobster” was my DFW gateway drug, and once I got my hands on it I was hooked....
