HERMITOLOGY



My name is Riley, and I play drums and write music for a band called Thrice.

This is where I ramble about music, sports, food, books, interwebbery, and whatever else I feel like sharing. I apologize in advance.

In addition to my ramblings here, I write a piece for OC Weekly called "3hree Things" that runs every Tuesday, and I'm also writing over at Flip Collective on occasion.

I'm the co-founder of a baseball-specific twitter feed and blog with my friend Ian, called Productive Outs.

And last, but not least, I have a bandcamp page and a soundcloud page that I'll be posting my own music and remixes on every once in a while.

This will be me later tonight if you replace the cake with a pile of greasy fried chicken, collared greens, mashed potatoes, a bounty of craft brews and a heap of brownies. I was born and raised on the West Coast, but my gut prefers the South (and good beer, regardless of where it’s from). I’m hoping that 2012 will bring a lot more writing (here and elsewhere), a lot of new music from a couple of new projects (solo and collaborative) that I’m working on, a really fun “final” Thrice tour with a couple of AMAZING bands (who will be announced fairly soon), a happy and healthy family, and a happy and healthy home with my lady and our kids mutts. Whether I “know” you or not, thanks for reading/following this blog and I hope your 2012 is a great one, because if the Mayans were right, uh…it’s kinda all we’ve got.
